Jetstart attended the 2015 Montreal Dragon Boat Challenge, held at Parc Jean-Drapeau. This year’s competition included teams from Ontario, the US, the East Coast and Team Canada’s Senior A roster. Jetstart placed well throughout the heats and into the 500m A Division Final. A little rusty from a light month of paddling leading up to the regatta, Jetstart finished 6th in the A Final in a tight race with less than 1 second separating 1st and 6th place. On Sunday, it was a case of déjà vu as the team was forced to stop paddling in the 2000m to avoid sinking and swimming for the second time this season. After a lot of bailing and switching of bodies, the team was able to stay afloat to cross the finish line in the end. A fun weekend, many laughs and great experience overall. Congratulations to Senior A – Team Canada for dominating the Mixed, Open and Women’s including Jetstart paddlers Brian Roy, Leanne Ginty and Alain Ruel- good luck in Welland at the Worlds!
